Amos P. Troyer (1856-1935), a prominent Mennonite ([[Mennonite Church (MC)|Mennonite Church]]) bishop of [[Hubbard (Oregon, USA)|Hubbard]], Oregon, was born in [[Wayne County (Ohio, USA)|Wayne County]], Ohio, 23 October 1856, the son of Peter and Elizabeth Troyer. He married Delilah Yoder on 1 January 1878, shortly after his [[Baptism|baptism]] in 1877. They had ten children. The family moved to Cass County, Missouri, and to Hubbard in 1892. He was ordained deacon in the newly organized [[Zion Mennonite Church (Hubbard, Oregon, USA)|Zion Amish Mennonite Church]] 18 June 1893, and bishop there 18 June 1895, where he served as an able and universally loved pastor until his death on 23 October 1935. He was buried in the Zion Cemetery.
