Onnes family

Onnes, a Mennonite family of Groningen, Netherlands, to which belonged Michiel Onnes Mz, b. 14 March 1879, at Groningen, d. 2 June 1950, at Veendam. He was a Mennonite pastor, serving at Hippolytushoef and 't Stroe on the island of Wieringen in 1905-1909, Warga 1909-1911, Westzaan 1911-1929, and at Zutphen from 1929 until he retired in 1946. During his Westzaan period he also took care of the newly founded congregation of Bussum, and after his retirement served as temporary pastor at Veendam. In Doopsgezinde Bijdragen 1907 he published an important historical paper on Jan ter Borg.
