Carmichael, Mahlon J. (1869-1948)
Mahlon J. Carmichael, formerly presiding elder of the Pacific Conference (United Missionary Church), was ordained by the Nebraska Conference in 1900. He married Eva Taylor in 1900 and after her death Bertha Bartlett in 1907. Three children were born to him by the first marriage and two by the second. He held pastorates at Newton, Kansas; Stuttgart, Arkansas; La Junta, Colorado; Yakima, Washington; Mt. View, Washington; Filer, Idaho; and McMinnville, Oregon. He served as presiding elder of the Pacific Conference during various terms following 1906.
