Bakker, a common Dutch family name, meaning Baker. A well-known Mennonite Bakker family, many of whose members served as preachers, stems from the island of [[Ameland (Friesland, Netherlands)|Ameland]], where Sybrand Jans Bakker was an (untrained) minister of the [[Waterlanders|Waterlander]] congregation 1718-d. 1761.
