Nelson E. Kauffman, a [[Mennonite Church (MC)|Mennonite Church]] (MC) bishop and conference leader, was born 5 October 1904  in [[Garden City (Missouri, USA)|Garden City]], Missouri, USA) and grew up at Minot, [[North Dakota (USA)|North Dakota]].
