Wild Church Fresno (Fresno, California, USA)
Wild Church Fresno, Fresno, California, USA began in early 2019. It was inspired by the Wild Church Network of congregations seeking to encounter God in the wilderness, a place of spiritual transformation and new vision.
It has been inspired by the Watershed Discipleship movement of church communities learning to love their place, as defined by their watershed.
It claims roots in the Anabaptist tradition of following Jesus in daily life. It is open to all who are looking for a deeper relationship with God, community, and creation from any faith tradition or no faith tradition. It is committed to the internal and external work of undoing racism, sexism, homophobia, and other forms of violence that harm our bodies and grieve the Spirit.
Wild Church Fresno has usually met outdoors monthly on the first Sunday of each month, usually on the banks of the San Joaquin River.
In 2021 the congregation was part of the Pacific Southwest Mennonite Conference. The minister was Katerina Friesen.
