Swart family name
Swart, a common Dutch family name. A Mennonite Swart family has lived on the Dutch island of Terschelling since the 17th century, many of whose members have served the Terschelling congregation as deacons, the last being A. G. Swart and Tjebbe Swart, the latter serving until 1953.
Rindert Swart (Haarlem, 1890-Hindeloopen, 1929) was educated at the Amsterdam University and the Mennonite Seminary and served the congregations of Hindeloopen-Koudum in 1916-1919.
