Prairieview Mennonite Church (Gridley, Illinois, USA)

Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Prairieview Mennonite Church, Gridley, Illinois, USA, began as a 2001 merger of the Waldo Mennonite Church (Mennonite Church (MC)) and the Flanagan Mennonite Church (General Conference Mennonite Church). The merger discussion had begun in 1999 when the congregations experienced leadership transitions.

The new congregation used the former Waldo Mennonite Church facilities. Initially, it became part of both the Central District Conference and the Illinois Mennonite Conference of Mennonite Church USA. In June 2007, it chose to withdraw from the Central District Conference and affiliate only with the Illinois Mennonite Conference.

In 2022 the congregation remained part of the Illinois Mennonite Conference.
