Klettendorf (also known as Klettendorff and Klettendorp; now known as Klecie; coordinates: 54.02782, 19.17243 [54° 1′ 40″ N, 19° 10′ 20″ E]; population in 1905, 135; in 2014, 79) is located 8.0 kilometers (km) (5 miles) east of Malbork (Marienburg), 20.7 km (12.9 miles) south-west of Elblag (Elbing), 21.3 km (13.3 miles) south of Nowy Dwór Gdański (Tiegenhof), 25.6 km (15.9 miles) east south-east of Tczew (Dirschau), and approximately and 52 km (32 miles) south-east of the regional capital Gdańsk (Danzig).
Klettendorf was founded at the end of the 14th century under the Chełmno law (Kulm Law, a legal constitution for a municipal form of government) on 31 włókas. Dutch colonists settled in the village in the 16th century. Until 1772 Klettendorf was located in what was known as Royal Prussia (also known as Polish Prussia) in the Kingdom of Poland. The First Partition of Poland in 1772 resulted in the creation of a new province on 31 January 1773, called West Prussia, in which Klettendorf was located. Klettendorf was situated in the district (Kreis) of Marienburg until the end of World War I, when it eventually came under the jurisdiction of the German province of East Prussia in 1922. At the outbreak of World War II in 1939, it came under the control of Nazi Germany. In February 1945 it was occupied by Soviet forces and eventually returned to Poland. In 2014 Klettendorf (now Klecie) was a village in the administrative district of Gmina Stare Pole, within Malbork County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, northern Poland.
In 1868, the village had 54 włókas of land, 12 houses, and 135 residents, including 11 Mennonites.
