Canyon Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Hazelton, Idaho, USA)

The Canyon Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation near Hazelton, Idaho, USA was established in 1997. The congregation started when the Colonization Board of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite encouraged settlement in the largely agricultural area. The first family moved to the area in October 1994 from the Buhl congregation.

Initially, the congregation met in homes and rented facilities; it organized as a congregation on 4 February 1997 and later erected a new church facility.

The Canyon Christian School began in a trailer already in 1995. A school building was erected in 1998 after three acres of land were purchased at the present location. The school also served as a church until the new church was built.

In 2020 the congregation was part of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The ministers were Darrell Becker and Vaughn Giesbrecht.
