The Bibliographie des Martyrologes Protestants Neerlandais (Bibliography of the Protestant Martyrs in the Netherlands) is a work in two volumes (La Haye, 1890): I, Monographies; II, Recueils. It is a publication of the University of Ghent and consists of abstracts from the Bibliotheca Belgica (Bibliographie generale des Pays-Bas) under the oversight of Ferd. van der Haeghen, Th. J. I. Arnold, and R. van den Berghe. This work is of great significance and value for an understanding of the Protestant martyrs in the Netherlands and Belgium. It describes the publications concerning the martyrs in which the Mennonites, because of their number, occupy the largest place. Of special importance also is the alphabetical list of martyrs in Vol. II, pp. 637-796, where numerous particulars concerning the martyrs are to be found. The Mennonite martyrs in this list are only those included in the Martyrs Mirror of van Braght, and the Reformed martyrs are those included in De Geschiedenissen der Martelaren of Adriaan van Haemstede. The Protestant martyrs listed in the Bibliographie total 877.
