Association Mennonite Luxembourgeoise
The Association Mennonite Luxembourgeoise (Luxembourg Mennonite Association) was organized in 1953. It assumed responsibility for the mission activity of Luxembourg Mennonites in 1964. From 1965 until 1978, the Association operated a Christian bookstore in downtown Luxembourg City. Association workers continued to sell Christian books and literature from a bookmobile at outdoor markets. In 1969 land was purchased, and a chalet was built near Scheidgen for a camping program. The association took full charge of the mission outreaches in Dudelange and Esch in 1971. A chapel was dedicated in Dudelange in March 1961. The congregation organized a church council in 1971. The members of this congregation come from the vicinities of Esch and Dudelange.
Regular Sunday services continued in Diekirch until the Rosswinkel chapel was dedicated in 1954. The association began work again in Diekirch in 1981, when the Henk de Fijter family, from Belgium, moved into the area to begin home Bible studies.
In 1986 there were 105 members in the Rosswinkel and Dudelange congregations. In 2009 the two congregations had 110 members. Children 's Sunday school, weekly Sunday worship services and midweek Bible studies are held in each congregation. They fully supported Jean Marcus, a Luxembourg Mennonite physician serving in Zaire (now Democratic Republic of the Congo). The congregations maintain contact with the Association des Eglises Evangéliques Mennonites de France (Association of the Evangelical Mennonite Churches of France), but are not members. They also maintain relationships with other believers churches in Luxembourg.
