Alt Münsterberg (also known as Ośno, Ossyn, Monsterberg, Minsterberg, Alde Monsterberg, and Altmünsterberg; now known as Stara Kościelnica; coordinates: 54.036389, 18.935556 [54° 2′ 11″ N, 18° 56′ 8″ E]; population in 1852, 421; in 1905, 376; in 2012, 250), is located approximately 3 kilometres (2 miles) north-east of Miłoradz (Mielenz), 7 km. (4 mi.) west of Malbork (Marienburg), and 42 km. (26 mi.) south-east of the regional capital Gdańsk (Danzig).

Alt Münsterberg was founded in the pre-Teutonic Order period and was called Ośno. It was mentioned in 1331 as Ossyn. The settlement was granted the Chełmno rights (Kulm Law, a legal constitution for a municipal form of government) by the Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights, Werner von Orseln. Until 1772 Alt Münsterberg was part of the Kingdom of Poland. The First Partition of Poland resulted in the creation of a new province in 1773, called West Prussia. Alt Münsterberg was situated in the district (Kreis) of Marienburg until the establishment of the Free City of Danzig in 1920. The village came under the control of Nazi Germany during World War II until February 1945, when it was occupied by Soviet forces and returned to Poland. In 2012 Alt Münsterberg (now Stara Kościelnica) was a village in the administrative district of Gmina Miłoradz, within Malbork County, Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The following Mennonite surnames are mentioned in the Prussian census of 1776: Bergen, Dick, Fiesen, Kroecker, Neufeldt, Regehr, Reimer, Warckentin, Wieb, and Wiebe. In 1820, the village had 350 residents, including 50 Mennonites.

Mennonites who were residents of Kunzendorf were members of the Heubuden Mennonite Church.
