Greenwald Hutterite Colony was founded in 1955 as a division from the Barrickman Hutterite Colony.
A daughter colony of the Greenwald Hutterite Colony is the Willow Creek Hutterite Colony (Cartwright, Manitoba, Canada).
In 2017 Greenwald Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 1 colony.
