Gallitz (Trnava kraj, Slovakia)
Gallitz (also Gollitz, now Skalica) is a county and village (pop. 600 in 1953) in the former Znaim (Znojmo) district of Moravia between Austerlitz (Slavkov) and Stiegnitz, four hours from Znaim. In 1563 the Anabaptists erected a Bruderhof there, which became one of the chief Hutterite households (Geschichts-Bücher, 215). In the Bohemian revolt it was severely damaged by Dampierre's troops in 1619, and again in 1623 and 1662.
