Johannes Rieger (Rieckher, Rücker), a Hutterite (see [[Hutterian Brethren (Hutterische Brüder)|Hutterian Brethren]]) preacher 1648/49-1662, then Vorsteher until 1687. On 20 April 1665, in the name of the brotherhood in Lower Hungary, he wrote a letter to the Dutch Mennonite congregations requesting financial aid. His letter of thanks for the gift received, sent from [[Sobotište (Trnavský kraj, Slovakia)|Sobotiste]], is now in the archives of the [[Amsterdam (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Amsterdam]] Mennonite Church. Another Johannes Rieger was a deacon in 1616-1620.
