Centro de Alabanza de Filadelfia, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA began as an outgrowth of Philadelphia Praise Center, serving as a congregation among the Spanish-speaking population in South Philadelphia. It was accepted as an "exploring" congregation in the Franconia Mennonite Conference in October 2014.
One of the early programs held at Centro de Alabanza was providing courses offered by the Instituto Bíblico Anabautista, a program founded in 1988 by the Mennonite Educational Agency (Mennonite Church USA) to provide Spanish-language biblical teaching from an Anabaptist perspective to persons at all educational levels. About 20 percent of the congregation participated.
The founding pastors, Fernando Loyola and Letty Cortes, have roots in the Franconia Conference's mission outreach in Mexico City, Mexico in the 1990s. Letty was the first woman of color credentialed for pastoral ministry in the Franconia Conference.
