Seye (Seyen, Seijen, Sye, Sije, Sijen) a Dutch Mennonite family, now extinct, formerly largely represented in the Waterlander congregation of Amsterdam, later also found at Haarlem, Leiden, and Rotterdam. Many members of the family served as deacons in Amsterdam as well as in Haarlem and Leiden. There were at least three Mennonite preachers of this family: Jacob Seyen was a preacher of the Waterlanders at Amsterdam 1642-died 1670. Hendrik Seye served the Flemish and Frisian Kruisstraat congregation of Haarlem 1715-circa 1750. Hendrik Seye Jr, after serving as assistant pastor at Friedrichstadt in Holstein, Germany, was the last minister of the Mennonite congregation of Schiedam, serving there 1741-1747. He was at the same time an ardent Collegiant, often speaking in the Collegiant meetings at Rotterdam and at Rijnsburg. Whether a Jacob Seyen was a preacher at Alkmaar in the early 18th century is questionable.
