Henderson ([[Nebraska (USA)|Nebraska]]) Bible School began in 1902 as a secondary school, called the "[[Bethesda Preparatory School (Henderson, Nebraska, USA)|Fortbildungsschule]]." The course of study was modeled after a school in [[Hillsboro (Kansas, USA)|Hillsboro]], [[Kansas (USA)|Kansas]], conducted by [[Penner, Heinrich D. (1862-1933)|H. D. Penner]].
