Burkhart Bämerle was a preacher of the Hutterian Brethren. He was originally an assistant of Philip Weber at Auspitz. In 1535, when the Anabaptists were banished from Moravia, he went to Swabia with the Swiss Brethren, and served them as a preacher. In 1542 he returned to Moravia, and became a preacher with the Hutterian Brethren. In 1557 he was seized because of his faith and severely tortured, but was later released. He died in 1567 at Tracht.
