Jacques (Jaques) Bostijn  (Coppin Bostijn), an Anabaptist martyr, was burned at the stake on 16 July 1562, at the Vrijdagsmarkt at Ghent, Belgium, with Laurens Alberts, Pieter van Maldegem, and Pieter van Male. His name is celebrated in the song "Als men schreef duyst vijfhondert Jaer," in the Lietboecxken van den Offer des Heeren, edition of 1578 and following. He was a native of Kortrijk (Courtrai) in Flanders. Members of the Mennonite Bostijn family were found in the Amsterdam "Lam, and Toren" congregation in the 17th and 18th centuries. They may be related to this martyr.
