Jacob (Jaques) Mesdag (Mestdach, Mesdach), a Dutch Anabaptist martyr, burned at the stake at Kortrijk (Courtrai), Belgium, on 8 November 1567 with Joos Casteels, Willem Aertsz (Aertsen), and Karel Hannebeel. They had been arrested at Zwevegem on 1 March 1566. They all remained steadfast and died valiantly. Jacob Mesdag was born at Langemarck and had lived at Capelle near Ieper; he was a weaver and a miller; in 1563 he had been (re)baptized and joined the congregation.

The Martyrs' Mirror contains a letter written by Jacob Mesdag in prison on 9 September 1567, after he had been in prison for 18 months, addressed to S. I. H. or Suzanneken, who was his sister and also a member of the church. Jacob Mesdag was a member of the Dutch Mennonite Mesdag family.
