Rainbow Mennonite Church (Mountain City, Tennessee, USA)
The Rainbow Chapel, Mountain City, Tennessee, USA began in 1957 as the result of a Bible School held by the Big Laurel Mennonite Church of Grayson, North Carolina. It received early assistance from the Conestoga, Maple Grove, and Ridgeview congregations in Pennsylvania.
It was affiliated with the Ohio and Eastern Mennonite Conference. In the late 1970s the "Eastern" part of that conference became the Atlantic Coast Conference.
In 2002 the Rainbow Mennonite Church as it was then known, withdrew from the Atlantic Coast Conference as one of a number of congregations that declined to join the new Mennonite Church USA. Rainbow Mennonite Church became an independent Mennonite congregation at that time.
