Zweibrücken Catechism
Zweibrücken Catechism, a name popularly given to the edition of the Elbing catechism of 1778, Kurze und einfältige unterweisung aus der heiligen Schrift, which was published at Zweibrücken in the Palatinate, Germany, in 1856 and reprinted there in 1880. The large size, prestige, and age of the Zweibrücken Amish congregation gave additional prestige to the Catechism, which was translated into French and published at Nancy, France, in 1862 and several times thereafter, and became the standard French Mennonite catechism. No original catechism was ever produced or printed at Zweibrücken.
