War Sufferers' Relief
American Mennonites have been particularly concerned, because of their non-resistant principles, to relieve suffering caused by war. Hence one of the major groups, the Mennonite Church (MC), gave its official relief organization, founded in 1917, the name "Mennonite Relief Commission for War Sufferers," which was changed in 1926 to "Mennonite Relief Committee."
