Walig family
Walig, a Dutch Mennonite family, found since the 16th century in the Zaan district, province of North Holland. Deacons by this name are found in the Mennonite congregations of Zaandam and Krommenie. Jan Walig (1796-1868), of Zaandam, was trained for the ministry at the Amsterdam seminary and served as pastor at Krommenie 1821-64.
