Waldheim Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Waldheim, Saskatchewan, Canada)
The Waldheim Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation in Waldheim, Saskatchewan, Canada was established in 1899. The congregation started when the Peter Becker and John Schartner families moved to the area.
Peter Becker was ordained as a minister on 6 July 1902, and another family from North Dakota joined the congregation. However, discord arose within the congregation over visiting a physician when sick, borrowing money to buy land, sending children to public school, and owning a gasoline engine. Eventually, most members were excommunicated, including Peter Becker in 1925. He died the following year. With Becker's excommunication the congregation no longer existed.
