Philipp Wackernagel (1800-1877), a German hymnologist, author of Das deutsche Kirchenlied von der ältesten Zeit bis zu Anfang des XVII. Jahrhunderts, 5 vv. (Leipzig, 1864-77), and Lieder der niederländischen Reformierten aus der Zeit der Verfolgung im 16. Jahrhundert (Frankfurt, 1867), both containing considerable numbers of Anabaptist hymns.
