Sittert, van, family

Van Sittert, a Dutch Mennonite family found at Amsterdam and Haarlem in the 17th and 18th centuries; in the 18th century a branch of this family was living at Zutphen and Winterswijk. Tieleman Tielen van Sittert was a member of this family; his son Sander van Sittert (died ca. 1690), married first to Anneken van Limburg, then to Clementia van Vollenhoven, was a noted cloth merchant at Amsterdam.
