Rosiane 't Kemels, an Anabaptist martyr, was executed at Aalst in Belgium, in August 1539. She was born at Ghent, Belgium, and was the wife of the martyr Lieven van de Walle, who was executed on 5 June 1536, at Ghent. After her husband's arrest Rosiane fled to Aalst, where there was also a Mennonite congregation. She was arrested here in February 1536 and imprisoned for some 170 days. Rosiane was put to death by being buried alive.
