Poinsett Hutterite Colony was founded in 1968 (Hofer says 1967) as a division from the New Elm Spring Hutterite Colony. In 2012 Poinsett Colony was Schmiedeleut Group 2 colony. The minister was Levi Tschetter and the manager was Carl Tschetter.
