Pohořelice (Boherlitz; German, Pohrlitz), a market village on the Iglava in Moravia, belonging to the Zierotin domains of Selowitz in 1581, when the Hutterian Brethren began to settle there. The next year they bought a small house with the land belonging to it of Josef Kowar, the resident of Pohrlitz, and expanded it to a proper Bruderhof. The buildings were located on the Waitzen highway, and were later known as the "old post office."

In 1593 the Bruderhof comprised a considerable amount of land, for which they paid a fee to the barons. Although Johann von Zierotin favored the Anabaptists, he was nevertheless displeased by the intention of the widow of a Lutheran preacher to join the Brethren. The Bruderhof was greatly damaged by the Teuffenbach cavalry in 1608. On 16 December 1619, the deacon Dietrich Pfingshorn died here. In summer of 1620 Bouquoy's troops plundered the Pohrlitz Bruderhof, murdered two of the Brethren, wounded three others fatally, and took away all the horses. Under the impact of this violence the Brethren fled, but soon returned. But on 29 December the Bruderhof was again attacked, plundered, and partly burned. It was scarcely restored, when it had to be finally abandoned in 1622.
