Nen family
Nen, a Mennonite family at Zaandam, Holland, of which a number of members have served the Mennonite congregation. Jacob Jansz Nen, a lumber merchant, was in the early 18th century a reader in the West Zaandam Nieuwe Huys congregation, while his son Klaas Jacobsz Nen (1701-1755) was a preacher in this congregation from 1726 and an elder from 1730 until his death. His colleague Adriaen Loosjes preached his funeral sermon, De gezegende Naagedachtenis des Rechtvaardigen, published in 1755 at West Zaandam. Neeltje Jans Nen (d. 1796 at Zaandam) was a deaconess of the same congregation and contributed to the church its silver communion service.
