Greenwood Hutterite Colony was founded in 1971 (Hofer says 1970)[1] as a division from the Jamesville Hutterite Colony (Utica, South Dakota, USA).
Clearfield Hutterite Colony in Delmont, South Dakota, is a daughter colony.
In 2025 the Greenwood Hutterite Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 2 colony.
