Gielis van Gent (d. 1559)

Gielis van Gent, an Anabaptist martyr, executed by beheading at Antwerp, Belgium, in 1559. His name (No. 46) is found in "Aenhoort Godt Hemelsche Vader," printed in the Liedtboecxken van den Offer des Heeren, 1562. Particulars are lacking, unless he is identical with Michiel (Jelis) Bernaerts. Gielis van Gent is not found in van Braght, Martyrs' Mirror.
