Franchoys de Corte (d. 1561)

Franchoys de Corte, an Anabaptist martyr, a cloth-maker, born in Bruges, Belgium, was arrested at Antwerp, and because he "persisted in his rebaptism" was   sentenced to death and executed by secret drowning at the Steen castle at Antwerp on 24 July 1561. His furniture and other goods had been confiscated and publicly sold before his death on 23 June 1561.
