Emmanuel Indonesian Christian Fellowship began as a group that met informally as an independent fellowship for ten years before linking to the Mennonite Brethren. They began services in 1989 and formally organized in 1992, when they joined the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. In 1989 the congregation began to meet in the facilities of the Willingdon Church. The congregation met in New Westminster and Vancouver before relocating to Willingdon. In 1996 the congregation had 74 members. Sonny Mandagie served as pastor of the church. The congregation merged with Willingdon Church in 1997.
