Eldert (Aelbert, Aeldert) Gerritsz, born at Velthuisen, near Zwolle, Dutch province of Overijssel, a revolutionary Anabaptist, a follower of Jan van Batenburg, was charged with belonging to corrupt sects and having robbed many Catholic churches. He was beheaded at Utrecht (Netherlands) on 21 July 1544.
