Lubbert Jansz Cremer (or Kremer), born 1702 at Neustadt-Gödens, East Friesland, died there 1781, was a preacher of the Groninger Old Flemish congregation of Neustadt-Gödens 1737-1781. In 1754 being appointed a candidate for elder, he made a tour of the congregations in the Netherlands and East Friesland to introduce himself. Eight candidates had to make such a preaching tour. After all of them had finished their trip the votes of all congregations were sent to Groningen as the central point. Four elders were chosen; Wolter ten Cate had obtained most votes (397). Cremer was not chosen; he had polled only 189 votes, the lowest number except one. Cremer wrote an account of his tour which lasted from 12 June to 31 September 1754.

During his trip he visited 34 Groninger Old Flemish congregations, of which he gives particulars (number of members in 1710, 1733, and 1754, names of preachers and deacons, place where he preached—it often was still a private home—and number of people present at his preaching). This remarkable and important document was published by A. M. Cramer with an introduction in Doopsgezind Jaarboekje 1840, 33-52.
