Calkins Mennonite Church (Calkins, Montana, USA)
The Calkins (Montana) Mennonite Church (Mennonite Church) is now extinct. The first Mennonite families moved into this community in the fall of 1915 and were organized into a congregation 9 December 1917, at which time Frank Roth was ordained their minister by his father Jake Roth, John Hochstetler was ordained by I. S. Mast on 11 November 1921, to fill the vacancy left by Roth, who moved away. The congregation was under the Dakota-Montana Conference (now North Central), I. S. Mast having bishop oversight. Services ceased in the fall of 1928, when nearly all of the families had moved away because of hard times.
