Boetje, Jochem (1841-1890)

Jochem Boetje was born 14 February 1841, at Knollendam in the Netherlands, the son of the preacher G. J. Boetje. He was ordained 23 October 1864 as preacher of the Mennonite church at Burg on the island of Texel; 5 July 1868 became pastor at Koog a.d. Zaan; on 8 December 1872, at Harlingen; and on 4 May 1884, at Amsterdam. He died 29 July 1890. He published Rapport v.d. Commissie ter zake van het Emeritaatsfonds vor Doopsgezinde Leeraars in Friesland . . . (Harlingen, 1876); Tweede Rapport . . . (Harlingen, 1876); "Over het opnemen van leden van Prot. Kerkgenootschappen in Doopsgezinde Ge meenten" (DB 1879); and "De Algemeene Doopsgezinde Societeit" (Nieuw kerkelijke Weekblad, 1870).
