The Arnaud Mennonite Brethren congregation, in Arnaud, Manitoba, began services in 1925 and formally organized on 14 June that same year with 23 members. The members originated from the Soviet Union with the founding leader being Abram Peters. They began their services in the United Church building and then later moved into the town hall. In 1935, the congregation moved into their first permanent building. Operation of the church was paid by the income coming from a piece of land that was farmed by the church members. Church membership reached its peak in the years 1940–1943. Because of fire, they needed to rebuild in 1952. The congregation dissolved 17 April 1980 due to declining membership.

The church called itself a "Mennonite Brethren" church from the beginning, although it accepted non-immersed Evangelical Mennonite Brethren (Evangelische Mennoniten-Gemeinden or Allianz Gemeinden) persons as full members until the church joined the Northern District Conference (Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches) in 1928.
