Amani Community Church (Wichita, Kansas, USA)
The Amani Community Church in Wichita, Kansas, was established in December 2019 as a church for Swahili-speaking immigrants. Masemo Wakibogo came to North America in 2016 from Kenya, though he was originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Because he spoke English, Wakibogo began working with immigrants, translating for them at clinics, banks, housing, immigration issues, and more, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The congregation's worship services emphasize music. In 2025, its over-three-hour services can be seen on YouTube. The Paradizo Choir of Amani Community Church has offered programs in numerous locations.
Amani Community Church was first affiliated with the South Central Mennonite Conference of Mennonite Church USA. In 2023, the South Central Mennonite Conference withdrew from Mennonite Church USA and, in 2024, chose to become a district of LMC: a Fellowship of Anabaptist Churches. Amani Community Church thus became part of LMC.
In 2025, Amani Community Church still met at the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church but had a building fund to purchase its own building.
