Ysbrand Dircksz Schol (d. 1534)
Ysbrand (Isebrand) Dircksz Schol was burned at the stake at Brussels, Belgium, on 27 July 1534, then aged 70. He had been arrested for heresy at Amsterdam as early as 1525, but was released after recanting. In Brussels he had been in prison twice before on a charge of heresy, but was released because of insufficient evidence. It is not clear whether Ysbrand was an Anabaptist; he was probably a Sacramentist.
