Montrose West Mennonite Meetinghouse (West Montrose, Ontario, Canada)
The Montrose West congregation was formed in June 2009 to help the overcrowding in the Elmira and the North Woolwich congregations. These two meetinghouses are shared with the Old Order Mennonite Conference. This meant they were on an alternating schedule, and available only every other Sunday. The geographical area for Montrose West included the area west of Northfield Drive, Conestoga over to St. Jacob’s following Highway 86 north to the east of Arthur St. Elmira up to Village of North Woolwich then along Bethel Road east to Salem Road back south which turned into Northfield Drive again.
In 2010 Clare Frey was the home minister for Montrose West (he formerly served the Elmira congregation). Elmer Martin was earlier Deacon for Montrose and now served the Montrose West congregation. Cleon Bauman and Larry Bauman were song leaders at Elmira and became the song leaders for Montrose East. Nelson Reist was now caretaker and usher. Services have been held on alternating Sundays with Montrose East sharing the same facilities. Bishop Gordon Bauman oversaw the congregation along with Montrose East, North Woolwich, Elmira, and Martins congregations.
