Claus (Claes) Lieven was beheaded on 27 September 1549 at Ghent, Belgium. He was the father of the Anabaptist martyrs Cathalijne and Suzanneke Claes, executed on 3 December 1573, at Ghent. It is not clear whether Lieven was a Calvinist or a Mennonite.
