Kopper is a Mennonite family of West Prussia, Germany, particularly in the Montau-Gruppe congregation. They were mostly farmers living in the adjacent villages of Klein Sanskau and Dragass. Some of them served the church as preachers and elders; e.g., Hans Kopper, preacher 1774 until after 1802; Isaak Kopper (1809-1856), preacher from 1831, elder 1850-1856; Gerhard Kopper (b. 1840), preacher from 1871, elder from 1881; Bernhard Kopper (1851-1916), preacher 1880-1916; Bernhard Kopper (b. 1893), preacher 1924, elder 1934, serving until the catastrophe of 1945, and after that in West Germany.
