Emmenholz, Zuchwil district, in the Swiss canton of Solothurn, in the angle where the Emme flows into the Aare. In 1899 Christian Gerber leased a large farm here and converted it into a model agricultural project. By industry and capability father and son won recognition and were elected on community and school boards.

Always interested in the welfare of the Mennonite Church and led by the wish to keep his family true to it, Christian Gerber furnished a hall with chairs and an organ as a place of worship. He thereby established in Emmenholz a new subsidiary of the Kleintal congregation. He put the hall also at the disposal of the Evangelical Society in which he was active; meetings were held here twice a month, alternately led by Mennonite preachers (Jura and Emmental) and evangelists of the Society. Communion is observed four times annually. Since 1910 there has been a Sunday school. In 1922 the congregation numbered 15 baptized members and 27 children. In 1953 Elder Abraham Gerber of Brestenberg was the local minister in charge. After 1946 the meetings of the Mennonites of the Solothurn district were no longer held in Emmenholz, but in the home of Elder Abraham Gerber in Brestenberg near Riedholz, where 8-10 families assembled.  A Mennonite preacher served on the first Sunday of the month, and a preacher from the Evangelical Society on the third Sunday. Emmenholz (Brestenberg) was never an independent congregation.
