Denver (Colorado, USA)
Denver, Colorado, is a thriving city on the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains, with a population in 2000 of almost 555,000. The First Mennonite Church (MC USA) has a congregation of 295 members in Denver under the leadership of Vernon K. Rempel. The Garden Park Mennonite Brethren Church was founded in 1955 and had a membership of 50 in 2005. Mennonite nurses taking training in the former Mennonite Hospital at La Junta, Colorado, spent time in Denver during the final months of their training. A large group of I-W men served in Denver hospitals beginning in 1950.
