Mennonitische Geschichtsblätter (Periodical)
Mennonitische Geschichtsblätter, published by the Mennonite Historical Society (Mennonitischer Geschichtsverein) of Germany, is an annual publication in the field of Mennonite history. It was edited in 1936-1940 by Christian Hege and appeared annually, each issue consisting of 64-100 pages. It suspended publication 1941-1948, but was revived in 1949, with Horst Quiring as the editor, assisted by Ernst Crous andPaul Schowalter, The issues of 1949-1955 consisted of 48-80 pages each. The content of the magazine has remained the same throughout the years of its publication. Questions pertaining to the Mennonites and Anabaptists, particularly in Germany, are discussed. Numerous historical articles, short biographies, bibliographies, and book reviews have appeared. The journal was the only European publication completely devoted to Mennonite history in the 1950s.
